The attendees discussed the opportunities and venues of collaboration between Microsoft and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board for the promotion of information and communication technology in the province with a special focus on e-governance. They also discussed the importance of intellectual property rights. The meeting also saw an agreement upon a road map which will be developed for extending support to the youth and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s IT sector’s private entrepreneurs.

Microsoft currently has two innovation centres in Pakistan based in Lahore and Karachi. These are just two of their many MIC’s worldwide. MIC’s provide facilities, resources and support for students, entrepreneurs and startups. In all this their main aim remains to accelerate the creation of new startups, jobs and the growth of a country’s software ecosystem.
