Microsoft addresses privacy concerns with new online dashboard and updated settings screen

Microsoft is introducing a new online privacy dashboard which will allow users to manage the information they have shared with the Redmond giant. This dashboard was announced by a blog post on Tuesday along with new changes regarding privacy options coming to Windows 10 through “Creator’s Update”.

New privacy dashboard

The new web-based privacy dashboard will provide users with more control over their data. This data includes location, search, browsing, and Cortana Notebook data across multiple Microsoft services.

Users can access the dashboard by following this link and logging in with their Microsoft account. The dashboard will offer users a simple and intuitive interface to view and clear information collected about them like location history, interests etc.

Privacy changes in Creators Update

Microsoft also announced some upcoming changes to the way privacy options are presented to users. The new options will make it easier for users to understand the implications of their selections.

Microsoft is trying hard to recover from allegations of invading user’s privacy after the release of Windows 10. These changes will help address some of the privacy concerns which arose due to those allegations.

These changes will roll out in the “Creator’s Update” for Windows 10 which is slated for release in April 2017.
