Meet the 11 Startups from 4th batch of LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship

LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship (LCE) has recently inducted 4th batch for it’s four month foundation program.

Foundation council members, after thoroughly scrutinizing and examining the bulks of applications received, selected the best in their own leagues. The examination was followed by intensive interviews with the selected candidates, ending with in-depth discussions among the panel and at last, the startups were chosen.

The council included competent members from the technology industry of Pakistan and therefore, the startups with the most explicit ideas have gone through . These startups will now be mentored by the best in the industry.

Mobilink, a leading telecommunication company, is a proud partner in this program. The company has signed an MoU with LUMS under their incubator support initiative i.e. titled Make your Mark. With a motto of helping young people in shaping their future, this initiative is aims to support, strengthen and provide a stable future to emerging startups around Pakistan.

The eleven startups that are included in this four month bootcamp include,

  1. Aitomation
    Aitomation uses a program to automate and replicate repetitive or redundant computer aided tasks involving human behavior. The team has developed a software that will not only decrease cost and ensure productivity but will also replace human resources in data entry and visual assistance work. Further, Aitomation team plans to automate websites and applications to be run by the computer.
  2. Door Drop
    A highly economical 24/7 door step delivery service, DoorDrop promises to deliver anything ranging from grocery items, medications and laundry within 90 min from the time of order. The uniqueness lies in the fact that door drop can not only deliver products at your house/office but can also pick products from your house/workplace and drop at a destined place(within Lahore).
  3. Narope
    This startup is reviving the traditional concept of Dhaba’s (traditional eatery outlets) by bringing them into the city centers from suburbs. The idea is an initiative considering the routine of the masses to provide something that can satisfy their taste buds in a much convenient way.
    Moreover, Narope has come up with an idea to make traditional desi food outlets a glamorous sitting area according to the environment.
  4. Event Bazar
    Working as an intermediate between the customer and the seller, Event Bazar – a one -stop shop provids all the necessary services regarding event management . The team provides an online market place where users can browse and make reservations with various venues, event photographers and vendors.
  5. Dockit
    Dockit will be playing the role of a middle-man between vendors and niche market. Their goal is bridging the gap between them and their customers by offering them discounts through effective communication and by providing other loyalty marketing products.
  6. Meezaj
    Meezaj provides a platform for the upcoming, young or freshly graduated fashion and textile designers to showcase their work with their own brand name and identity. Moreover, Meezaj also works toward in providing a platform for independent brands.
  7. Shahi Sawari
    An on-demand online rickshaw booking service, Shahi Sawari is a service that aims to provide a convenient rickshaw service by creating an online network with rickshaw drivers enabling passengers to make an online booking through website, online applications or SMS. This service will also provide door step availability.
  8. Shadi Box
    A one-stop service for wedding planning and execution where one can find, compare and book wedding services from best vendors.
  9. Paperpk
    It is one of the biggest online web portal in Pakistan consisting of blogs ranging from jobs, admissions, tenders, poetry and free classified advertisements.
  10. Trebel
    A music streaming social network that allows music lovers to share their experience of listening to particular styles of music and express their feelings while listening. Moreover, it lets users to interact, connect and express through music.
  11. Nearpeer
    Nearpeer is a community generated, educational online platform where peers will help their community in learning outside the class premises more effectively and efficiently. The process will involve video lectures and sharing course resources with peers in order to make the learning convenient.
