In recent news, the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, announced exciting new features for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp which will support businesses and online marketplaces on the respective platforms hence making shopping and overall service much easier.
The new updates further ensure security and prevent risks for customers. This was announced on Facebook’s Live Audio room where the CEO announced the features as Facebook products known as Shops on WhatsApp and Marketplace, Shop Ads, and Instagram Visual Search.
Shops on WhatsApp and Marketplace will allow users to chat with a business about a product before actually buying it. On the other hand, business owners will be able to set up their shops on all three platforms only once but will allow these businesses to target a wider market for maximum sales.
However, Shops Ads is more about accelerating the shopping experience through unique advertisement plans. Since these ads will be optimized with respect to the application, it will allow users to scroll through the shop’s collection of products.
In addition to this, getting to know new products will be much easier as Instagram’s Visual Search gives users what they would prefer. This further extends to users actually trying on the product through their phones.
This just goes to show that Facebook will be entirely focused on e-commerce to further gain profit and take another step forward in being a dominant technology company encompassing all areas of the industry.
