Hundreds of applications poured in this season for The Foundation program at LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship. After a thorough process of scouting, soliciting applications, conducting interviews and discussions between the Foundation Council members, LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship has inducted its third batch for their Foundation program.
The third batch for the summer season includes fourteen startups, more than twice the number of the previous batches.
The contract signing ceremony took place at LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship where the selected startups signed their Entrepreneurship Development Program contracts with Dr. Sohail Naqvi, Vice Chancellor, LUMS in an exclusive gathering. Addressing the young entrepreneurs at the induction ceremony, Dr. Naqvi said, “The promise of all the startups and the passion of the entrepreneurs that were shortlisted by the Foundation Council compelled us to expand the program.” He welcomed the new incubatees to the ‘real world’ where hard work, passion, commitment and real results drive success and differentiates winners form the ordinary.
The startups that made it to the third batch includes:
HereCut – an online marketplace for grooming services,
Healthwire – an online market for healthcare services,
Wedding Graphers – a venture offering wedding media solutions at economical rates,
Technician.pk – an online service provider for home and office repair services,
King Kashmiri – manufacturing and distribution of a revolutionary hot beverage
iDarzi – a venture providing customized designer clothing,
Harbinger Comics – a local comic venture,
Teachus.pk – an online portal for home tuitions,
Alifiqra – an online Islamic education portal,
Traverse.pk – Traverse Pakistan is a startup to promote tourism in Pakistan. We provide a complete encyclopedia, one stop shop and a platform for all tourism activities in Pakistan
RepairDesk – business software for mobile repair shops.
The third batch will start formally from next week with their three day orientation week followed by a nine-day startup business development boot camp.
