Longping High-tech and Guard Agricultural Donates Rs32 Million to Flood Victims

Since the 20th of August, the Chinese company Yuan Longping High-tech Agriculture Co., Ltd. (LPHT) and the Pakistani company Guard Agricultural Research and Services Private Company (GARS) have been actively participating in the local disaster relief activities in Pakistan. This is in keeping with the profound friendship that exists between the Chinese and the Pakistanis.

According to China Economic Net (CEN), a total of Rs 32.19 million worth of aid was distributed to people who had been affected by the disaster. This consisted of Rs 26.19 million worth of supplies (440 tents, worth Rs 8.8 million; 171.5 tonnes of rice, worth Rs 16.22 million; 1920 kg of salt, worth Rs 770,000; 5 tonnes of flour, worth Rs 400,000); Rs 2 million worth of cash that was donated through the Lahore Industry and Commerce Chamber and the Hybrid High

The majority of the aid is put toward post-disaster restoration projects in places like Larkana, Naudero, Khair Pur, Nawab Shah, Sangar, Sawat, and Mardan, amongst others.

LPHT is an innovative high-tech seed company that was given its name in honour of the scholar Yuan Longping. Rice production in Pakistan has increased by more than 500 million kilogrammes annually as a result of the use of LPHT and GARS hybrid rice seeds, which are the leading hybrid rice seed brands on the market and have annual sales of more than 2,000 tonnes. This has resulted in Pakistan earning more than 100 million US dollars.
