A fundraising campaign currently underway at Indiegogo has caught our attention. The campaign sells the idea of a minimalistic dumb phone to avoid obsession with overly complicated smartphones. Called, Light Phone 2, it is a simple, yet beautiful, 4G LTE phone with a black and white matte E-ink display.

The whole idea of this phone is to take your attention away from the phone to the present moment and conversations. The phone, currently conceptualized, will be a way to break away from the distraction of smartphones. The phone is expected to come with some basic features like calling, messaging, alarm clock so that you don’t feel completely disconnected.

Light Phone 2 is in conceptualization phase and a campaign of fundraising is going on which has crossed the initial funding milestone. The phone is expected to be available in April 2019.
