This smartphone will keep mosquitoes away from you

Yes, you read it right. LG has introduced a new smartphone that will actually keep mosquitoes away from you.

The new smartphone is LG K7i and it is equipped with the “Mosquito Away” technology. As the name implies, the LG K7i will repel the mosquitoes. It produces an ultrasonic sound which is not audible to human beings but audible to mosquitoes. So it will repel the mosquitoes away from you if you have the phone near you.

The mosquito-repellent technology is a part of the back cover as you can see in the image. The phone also comes with a “Mosquito Away” stand on which you can put your phone to use it as a mosquito repellent for the room. You can also use a normal cover instead, which comes with the phone. LG claims that this is the first smartphone to come with such technology and it is right.

On the specifications side, the K7i it comes with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 854×480. The processor is 1.1 GHz quad-core and it comes with 2GB of RAM. Internal storage is 16GB which can be expanded by a Micro SD card. The main camera is 8MP with a LED flash and there is a 5MP camera on the front. It also has a fingerprint sensor and comes with a 2500 mAh battery. But there is a drawback, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and there are very less chances that it will be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat.

The phone is currently available in India for INR 7,990 (PKR 12,800) and may soon come to Pakistan.

What do you think about this new technology in a smartphone?
