LG has finally announced the next flagship from the company’s smartphone production line. Called V30, the smartphone will boast a 6-inch FullVision OLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, LG has confirmed.
The smartphone is all set to be released at the IFA conference in Berlin, just a month down the road. In a press release dispatched by the company, it said that the next major smartphone would boast a taller display with minimal bezels to the sides, all thanks to the OLED display panel. This would make this smartphone the LG’s first ever to boast the company’s display technology that previously was only being used in making Televisions. Although while announcing, the company didn’t explicitly call it the V30, the experts are quite sure it would be the next smartphone from LG’s V series of smartphones, possibly V30.

The company mentioned that the OLED displays would make the best panels for the cutting-edge VR applications. Despite the large screen size, the smartphone will be smaller in size than the last year’s V20. It also seems that the upcoming smartphone would feature curved edges as we have been seeing in Samsung smartphones for quite some time now. “And because the screen in the upcoming smartphone will be based on plastic OLED technology – also known as P-OLED – the edges can be curved to allow for a more ergonomic design and a better feel in the hand,” the company said.
Other specifications of the smartphone include the Snapdragon 835 processors throttled with 4 Gigs of RAM. The smartphone will have 3,200 mAh of battery and will come with IP68 dust and water resistance. The company is also reportedly ditching the secondary display in favor of a floating bar. It would be worth mentioning here that the company employed OLED panels in the LG G Flex series smartphones, it is only now that the FullVision technology is targeted that too for the company’s major smartphone.
