Lenovo launches 2 ultra-affordable tablets, price starts at $79

Although tablets are losing their market share and people are least interested in tablets now, but some manufacturers are still making them. Lenovo has launched 2 ultra-affordable tablets today which come with moderate specifications. The 2 new tablets under discussion are Lenovo Tab 7 and Lenovo Tab 7 Essential.

Lenovo Tab 7

Lenovo Tab 7 comes with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 with IPS LCD panel. It comes with a MediaTek™ MT8161 Quad-core processor. The tablet is very lightweight as it weighs just 260 grams. It comes with front-facing speakers to provide you an excellent audio experience. Lenovo says that it will give you the best audio experience even if you are listening through your headphones. It also comes with a multi-account user interface which means that more than 1 persons can use the device with their own accounts.

The Tab 7 comes with 16 GB internal storage and 1 GB RAM. A gig of RAM is not enough for Android phones nowadays but you can’t expect more from an ultra-affordable tablet. The tablet will last 15 hours of general usage on a single charge, although Lenovo has not mentioned the battery capacity.

It comes with 5MP back camera and a 2MP front camera. It comes with Android 7.0 out of the box and you should not expect a single update on this tablet as Lenovo already sucks while delivering updates for their devices. The Lenovo Tab 7 costs $99.99.

Lenovo Tab 7 Essential

Lenovo Tab 7 Essential also comes with the same, 7-inch display but with a lower resolution of 1024×600. It is also a lightweight tablet and weighs 254 grams. It also comes with multi-account support so that your whole family can use it without any privacy issues. This tablet does not feature Lenovo’s high-class sound features but it also has a front-facing speaker.

Although it is a much cheaper tablet, it still comes with 16 GB of internal storage and a gig of RAM. It has a MediaTek™ MT8167D Quad-core Processor clocked at 1.30 GHz. It has a 2 MP camera both on front and back. It comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and as I already mentioned, you should forget about the updates. The Tab 7 Essential has a better, 20 hours battery life. The Tab 7 Essential costs just $79.99.

Both tablets are available to purchase from Lenovo’s website. If the tablets come to Pakistan, their expected price would be Rs. 9,000 to 11,000.
