Learn Smart Pakistan is offering rewards for 9-10 grade students and teachers through digital learning competition

Knowledge Platform has launched the third iteration of its Learn Smart Pakistan initiative, offering students as well as teachers of grade 9 and grade 10 to benefit from the wide array of digital learning material on the platform. Apart from that, they are also offering as to win prizes like tablets and gift hampers along the way.

Learn Smart Pakistan (LSP) 2016 is providing students and teachers a platform to access the 9th and 10th Grade Math and English Pakistani Board Curriculum via specially designed lessons that are fun and engaging. There are more than 800 video lectures, 10,000 assessment questions, and 50 educational games, catered specifically to the Pakistan Education Board’s specifications, on their web portal for free.

This year, the launch of LSP 2016 coincides with the launch of a series of digital learning challenges that will last through the course of 2016.

How can I participate?

  1. Go to www.learnsmartpakistan.org or download their Android app (iPhone application is coming soon!).
  2. Sign-up for a new account.
  3. Now, you will have access to content and assessments. You can gain Proficient Badges as you work your way through skills and topics.

More than 75 tablets and 50 gift hampers will be up for grabs for high performing students and teachers throughout the year.

“Not only is the system incredibly easy, but it is also a great facilitation to all of us who would like to pass our board exams with flying colours,” said Yusra Nadir, a student of 9th grade at Siddeeq Public School, Rawalpindi. “Learn Smart Pakistan is, indeed, giving us a chance to improve our mathematical and linguistic skills.

To ensure that the online learning challenges are solved by the students themselves, there will also be a follow-up pre-award tests. Alongside that, there is a bootcamp for teachers to help strengthen lesson planning and online teaching skills and a writing workshop for students to brush up their writing skills.

In the end, there will be a closing ceremony featuring one of the most anticipated education events of Pakistan, the Learn Pakistan Education Forum. Last year alone, the participation rate for LSP 2015 increased 7.9 times to 1,533 participants (including 1,314 students and 219 teachers) enrolled from 332 schools and 78 cities/towns across Pakistan.

“Some parents were initially very uncomfortable with their children using LSP to interact and compete with other students online. There is a natural dread of that which exists in the anonymity of the internet. However, after parents’ saw their children’s enthusiasm for their school work increase, we ended up receiving many thank you letters.” said manager at Knowledge Platform, Hira Zainab, “It’s gratifying that Learn Smart Pakistan is also changing perceptions toward e-learning.”

Originally introduced in 2014, Learn Smart Pakistan is basically a digital learning challenge with an aim to provide quality educational resources to Pakistan’s students and teachers. There is a dire need for a revamp of our education system and LSP is in on the right path to restore the interest of students in education through their innovative system of teaching. Their award-winning learning management system (LMS), Ultrabot has received global acclaim and is the perfect example of innovation in technology.
