“Lamudi is the trendsetter in buying & selling of property online in Pakistan”

We don’t have many options for buying property online in Pakistan, sure there are many smaller players who are doing mediocre work. But when we talk about high-quality stuff, there are only two names — Lamudi.Pk is one of them. Yesterday, the Lahore team of Lamudi organized a meetup for bloggers and journalists to meet and mingle with the community. This is their first event in this regard and the team hopes to build and flourish the relationship with all opinion leaders in the city.

I have the press release right now in my hand and to my surprise there is no mention of Lamudi’s progress or any numbers they have achieved in the past months. The main focus of the PR is on Lamudi’s culture i-e, free snacks, television time, cricket matches, employee of the month and entertainment budget.

During a light conversation at the event, Saad Arshad — Country Head of Lamudi, mentioned that competition is always good and they believe in healthy competition. He added that before Lamudi nobody was taking property buying and selling very seriously. There were many websites, but people were running them as pet projects or hobbies. It was after Lamudi entered the local market with a proper team of professionals, the other website owners realized the potential of the market, and then tried for funding. Saad pressed that Lamudi is the trendsetter in the country and it can’t be denied.

When I asked about the property listings’ count, Saad mentioned that there are 120,000 to 135,000 property listings on the website. This is not a cumulative number because properties are expired after 120 days and are no longer available on the website. He also added that these property listings are genuine ones with no spam because their main focus is good user experience and helping the user buy and sell in the most convenient way possible.

Lamudi already has presence in the mobile application world but now the team is working on a unique application which will make the process of selling property hassle-free. What exactly the team is working on? We will get to know in a few days.

Have you ever bought or sold property online through Lamudi? How was your experience?
