Khwarizmi Science Society, a non-profit organization based out of Lahore, is going to conduct Lahore Science Mela 2017, an event focused on science, its applications and a fusion with the rich culture of Lahore.
The event, spanning over two days, will be conducted on 28-29 January 2017 at Ali Institute of Education Lahore. Powered by a very unique idea of combining science with local culture of Lahore, the Mela (festival) is an open-to-all event to explore the under-rated fun miracles of science. The event will cover several key modules that include the Human Health, Meet the Scientists etc.
The event, as claimed, would be a first-of-its-kind in Lahore. Although science has incorporated well into our lives, unfortunately, it hasn’t yet been able to make a place in our society. Based on the thought that here, in Pakistan, kids and millennials look up to science as a boring educational discipline. Science Mela is an excellent opportunity to engage this market segment in the boundless opportunities that the subject offers.
Melas have always been a central place of attraction and enjoyment, and the event hopes to add a taste of science to it. The effort will not only highlight the lighter side of science but will also motivate the general public to take it as something intriguing that needs to be celebrated, and enjoyed.
The event is accepting applications from innovators, scientists, educators, doctors, engineers and the general public from all over Pakistan to come and join in. Apart from attending the event generally, people can also participate as exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, and partners.
Founded in 1997, the Khwarizmi Science Society (KSS) is working as a non-profit association and is based in Lahore. The Society aims at accounting the science culture into the Pakistan’s educational and in the general social scenarios. These people work to bridge the gap between the science industry, and our society in general.
