Lahore Blast; Careem & Uber offering free rides for blood donors

After a deadly blast today in Lahore, the city is scrambling to attend to the injured and cab-booking service Careem & Uber are now offering free rides to any blood donors in the city.

Yesterday, a suicide bomber blew up outside Lahore’s Gulshan-i-Iqbal park, killing nearly 70 people and injuring over 200, according to hospital sources. As a result, there is a dire need for blood and Careem has stepped up to make it easier for people who are willing to do so.

Barely some time ago, the companies took their social media page to make the following announcement,

If you are located in Lahore and wish to donate blood, you can use “Donate” as the promo code to use Careem’s service. They are also requesting the users to avail the free rides only for donating blood and not take advantage of this offer. Whereas, Uber is offering the free rides through promo code SAVELHR.
