Karachi to get free wifi all over the city

Karachi will get free wifi all over the city, announced Sindh government in a recent event on Thursday. Punjab government also made a some what similar statement of provision of free wifi all over the province, a few months ago.

Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government, Sharjeel Memon, announced this during the inauguration of sports complex in Landhi. According to him, the street lights of Karachi will be upgraded with LEDs and free Wifi connectivity which will be open to public.

In addition, he announced that all the street lights of the city will be updated, which means that the bulbs will be replaced with modern and up to date LED systems and CCTV cameras to curb street crime.

On the other hand, the Punjab government has yet to implement this plan in the province.
