Karachi Pakathon to be held on 10th May

Under the umbrella of MIT Enterprise Forum, Karachi is all set to celebrate Pakathon this May.The event will be hosted by Aman Foundation on 10th May. Pakathon is an effort to bring thinkers, innovators and developers on the same platform so that they can engage in productive activities and put their heads together to come up with brilliant project ideas. The aim of Pakathon is solution to Pakistan’s problems and mind you, not just any solution: Pakathon is an event designed to inspire and motivate the participants to give the ideas their very best so that they can design the most optimum and efficient solutions that can help this country take steps in the direction of success.

This year’s Pakathon in Karachi will be no different. The team has collaborated with some of the major social organizations including Aman Health, Karachi Electric and The Citizen Foundation. Organizations such as these often face some difficulties. With the help of Pakathon, these issues have been posed as problems to the would-be participants. The main idea is to encourage people to solve them in the most effective way. Since these organizations are from different walks of life, the spectrum of problems is quite wide but this also means that the competition is open to all thinkers. All you need is the grit and determination to work on a problem and reach a solution.

Register Right Away

The registrations for the event are open and will close May 9th. If you have a team of 4-6 members with a diverse skill set, register right away. The problems are available on the website and you can start brainstorming. However, if you feel that you can give a valuable contribution to one of the listed cause but lack a team, there is a good news for you. You can use the Pakathon Wikispaces to find team members. However, the Karachi Pakathon will permit one-man team as well.

The Best Solution will win Rs. 2 Lac

When you employ your skills and creativity for Pakathon, you won’t only be helping the community but also getting a chance to win the prize money of 2 lac! On May10th, the participating organizations will present their problems and participant teams will start working on solutions. From May 10th to June 13th, the teams will prepare their solutions and will submit their work on June 14th. The results will be revealed on 28th June.
