Pakistanis continue to make the country proud!
A young Pakistani woman, Kanza Azeemi, has clinched the top academic honor after graduating as an MBA student at the Oxford University Saïd Business School. She was awarded the prestigious Saïd Prize in an end-of-course ceremony at the Oxford University’s Sheldonian Theatre. Peter Tufano, the dean of Saïd Business School, announced Kanza’s name on the Dean’s Honour List and also awarded her the prize.
Every year, the prestigious Saïd Prize is awarded to one MBA student for his/her outstanding academic excellence and contribution to the MBA program and the wider Oxford community. Kanza was the lone receiver of the prize this year in a class of 327 students from 58 countries.
Kanza is a former graduate of Lahore University of Management Sciences(LUMS) from where she passed out with a distinction in Economics. Since then, she has juggled her academics with women empowerment and social impact initiatives.
In her time at Oxford University, Kanza was actively involved in organizing impactful events. Dean Tufano highlighted the numerous activities she conducted in her role as the elected Co-Chair of the Women’s Leadership Oxford Business Network working to promote women in leadership positions and striving for gender equality.
Earlier this summer, a Pakistani Physicist, Sameed Muhammad, brought acclaim to the country. Sameed, along with his team of researchers and physicists at CERN led a breakthrough achievement in the field of Physics that may even form the basis of a new Physics stream in the future. Their experiment, which measured the hyperfine splitting of anti-hydrogen, is the first such measurement in a system of pure anti-matter.
