Jazz is celebrating 25 years of digital and telecom transformation in Pakistan

Jazz is celebrating 25 years of digital excellence in Pakistan, starting as a modest company back in 1994. The era which followed, triggered a rapid pace of advancement in the telecom sector and today Jazz is the largest mobile operator in Pakistan – every third mobile user in the country being a Jazz user. As per statistics released by PTA, more than 14 million people currently use Jazz 3G, whereas around 10 million people use Jazz 4G. In total Jazz has the largest data user base at over 36.5 million (2G, 3G and 4G). The Telco also offers the best-in-class Super 4G technology that has been awarded as the fastest 4G in Pakistan three times in a row by Ookla.

To celebrate the anniversary, Jazz will be kicking off a campaign from Instagram where customers will be asked to share their favorite memory from the operator’s experience so far. Given that Jazz has been around for so long, the stories will offer deep nostalgia and a view back to Jazz’s advancements into the current modern era. The winning story will get a giveaway from Jazz and it will be shared throughout their social media handles.

A beautiful TVC has also been shot in four exquisite locations across Pakistan. It showcases in a very artistic manner how Jazz has been defying the norms and changing the digital landscape of the country for years and is geared to take on the future with the millennial youth right by its side.

As Jazz celebrates its past achievements & present accomplishments, its eyes are still set on an even more promising future as per its pledge to take Pakistan into an era of digital advancement & innovation, where every Pakistani can achieve their dreams and tell the world of their true potential without any limitations.

This is the central thought behind Jazz’s 25 year campaign that commemorates the fact that the telco has always been ahead of its game, however the best is yet to come as it has just gotten started – Abhi tou sirf shuru’at hai aglay 25 bhi sath hain!

Jazz was launched with a promise of connecting Pakistan and 25 years on, we empower 60 million Pakistanis through the country’s largest voice and data network, high-speed mobile internet, innovative VAS offerings and financial services,” said Aamir Ibrahim, CEO Jazz. “Our journey has been about focusing on access even in the remotest regions, a customer-centric approach and a commitment to affordable digital tools for all.”

And it’s been quite a journey to say the least. If we all look back to Jazz origins, from what it was back in 1994 when it started off as Mobilink to the launch of 3G and eventually becoming Pakistan’s biggest operator, Jazz has played quite a huge role in the advancement of the telecom sector in Pakistan. The company rebranded into Jazz following the merger between Mobilink and Warid. With more than 20 million 3G/4G users and a staggering revenue of Rs. 1.9 billion in Q2 2019, Jazz is going to new heights by revolutionizing the telecommunication segment in Pakistan.

But that’s not all, the company is also proactively funding and looking for startups within Pakistan which mean to make a difference. Through Jazz xlr8 and various partnerships with National Incubation Centers around the country, the operator is also reaffirming its commitment towards the promotion of innovation and digital transformation in various sectors such as EdTech, HealthTech, AgriTech and more. The company takes pride in connecting, digitizing and revolutionizing Pakistan in its 25 year history.

Very recently, Jazz became the top telecom operator to provide the best 4G experience across the country as per a PTA survey. This itself is another indicator of the company’s high standards when it comes to provision of services and customer experience.
