E-Rozgaar Training Program, an initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), would be working with the Japanese government’s Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to create global work opportunities for e-Rozgaar trained freelancers hailing from Punjab. The announcement came through a press release sent to Techjuice by the PITB officials.
According to the details, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) had an online discussion session with the representatives of e-Rozgaar to discuss possibilities of creating global work opportunities for e-Rozgaar trained freelancers and showed keen interest in working with e-Rozgaar. The PITB held two focus group discussion sessions for the representatives of JICA to acquaint them with the concept and functionality of e-Rozgaar and its trained freelancers.
The online sessions with JICA focused on general and technical know-how and familiarized them with Punjab Government’s vision to empower the youth financially and socially. JICA team was also briefed on the skill levels of Pakistani freelancers and the issues they face in terms of acquiring lucrative job opportunities.
JICA senior representative Hirotaka Izumi briefed the participants about its ICT development mission in developing nations such as Pakistan. He also appreciated the Punjab Information Technology Board’s initiatives for human development in the ICT industry, such as the e-Rozgaar Training Program.
Earlier, PITB announced that it has started accepting applications for the latest E-Rozgar training batch, held with collaboration between the PITB and the youth affairs and sports department. It also claimed that the E-Rozgaar graduated freelancers have contributed Rs. 2.4 billion in foreign exchange till now.
