You’ve probably been living under a rock if you have no idea who Jack Ma is. Ma is the wearer of numerous hats – Founder and CEO of Alibaba Group, the richest man in Asia, Fortune’s 2nd greatest leader in the world, and now a dress-up extraordinaire.
At a recent Alibaba Annual Party 2017, a man wearing a gold mask arrived on stage in a heavy motorbike, who then exhibited some killer dance moves to the song Billie Jean. When he unveiled the mask, the crowd of 40,000 Alibaba Employees went into a fit to discover that they had just witnessed a Michael Jackson-inspired dance number from Jack Ma himself.
That wasn’t it. A group of back up dancer then got on stage and joined Jack Ma in dancing to Michael Jackson’s songs including Dangerous and Black or White. Ma was then hoisted into a cage along with his bike and signed off in a truly extravagant style.
Alibaba Group was founded 18 years ago in 1999. It has come a long way since then. It is one of the biggest online retail marketplaces, employing over 54,000 people across the world, and is the sixth largest company in the world in terms of revenue.
Earlier this month, Alibaba officials met with the upper management of Yayvo and TCS. While most of the details have been kept under wraps, the meeting primarily involved Alibaba officials visiting the warehouse facilities of TCS to gague its infrastructure. The team also visited the Yayvo headoffice in Karachi and discussed the current and upcoming e-commerce trends in the country.
