IT Ministry Opens 14 e-Rozgar Centers Across Pakistan

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has set up 14 e-Rozgar Centres across the country to encourage freelance and digital business.

The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has announced that 20 more centres are now under development. The program’s target date is February 2027, and its objective is to establish 250 e-Rozgar Centres around the country. The national economy is projected to get $50 million in yearly revenue from this effort.

To combat youth unemployment, the Prime Minister’s Digital Strategy includes the e-Rozgar project, a flagship program that promotes freelancing. When it comes to the global digital economy, these centres equip young professionals with the tools they need to compete. Freelancers in various parts of Pakistan will be able to make use of this scheme because it seeks to democratize access to virtual offices.

How e-Rozgar Centers Are Established?

Every district will have an e-Rozgar Centre set up as part of this strategy. The number of centers in each province will be decided by looking at the population and data from Ignite’s 1.2 million registered freelancers. Punjab is expected to receive 149 centers, followed by Sindh with 51, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 28, Islamabad with 11, Balochistan with six, Azad Kashmir with three, and Gilgit-Baltistan with two centers.

Newspapers, PPRA channels, PSEB‘s official platforms, and social media networks all play a role in the Expression of Interest (EoI) notices that start the process of establishing these centers. E-Rozgar Centres are located on premises that have been hand-picked by an impartial commission.

Government Support for Building Owners and Developers

The government helps to build owners by offering interest-free loans of up to Rs. 10 million through commercial banks if they agree to provide space for these centers.

Developers can make use of the program’s free training and infrastructure support to get competitive skills in the digital economy. The initiative also provides financial assistance to trainers and helps with marketing.
