In recent news, the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque had invited numerous Swedish-based tech companies in order to further invest in the technology sector in Pakistan.
The negotiations of this were briefed in a meeting which consisted of Federal Secretary Ministry of IT & Telecom Dr. Sohail Rajput, Chairman PTA Maj Gen (r) Amir Azeem Bajwa, Executive Director Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) Brig (r) Muhammad Tahir Ahmed Khan and senior officers of the Ministry of IT. Both sides in the meeting highlighted the increase in cooperation in the field of IT and telecommunications.
The minister mentioned to the Ambassador of Sweden in Pakistan Henrik Persson how Pakistan values its relations with Sweden in regards to the tech industry and highlighted how communication and further planning is necessary for both countries to thrive. Moreover, he stated how Pakistan wanted to benefit from Sweden’s recent advancements in domains such as Big Data, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and more.
In conclusion, the Swedish ambassador approved the concept of paramount progression in the IT sector and further stated that Swedish companies will soon invest in Pakistan.
