Hyundai’s 4th generation Tucson has been spotted in Pakistan, fueling speculation about a possible launch in 2025. This model, which appears to be the pre-facelift version of the global Tucson, caught the attention of car enthusiasts and industry experts alike. The sighting has sparked curiosity as to whether Hyundai is planning to introduce this upgraded version of the Tucson to the Pakistani market.
Hyundai Nishat Motors introduced 3rd generation Tucson during 2019 in Pakistan, while the global market was already using an even more advanced model. However, onset of the latest 4th generation Tucson has stirred many debates regarding the company’s next strategy for Pakistan.
A company representative confirmed that the Tucson seen on the roads was a “private import” and emphasized that the company had “no immediate plans to launch the new generation of Tucson in Pakistan in 2025.”
But some experts don’t believe in this statement particularly when the model of 4th gen Tucson has caught up with high costs to import it for private use, ranging from 24 million PKR at the most. For this price buyer may switch to more image-boosting models such as Toyota Land Cruiser Prado or high-end European SUVs which has relatively better residual values.
It also raises doubts that Hyundai has been importing the 4th gen Tucson into Pakistan just for testing them on the roads here, an indication that the company might be planning to launch the model locally in future. More so, now that the new generation of the Kia Sportage is expected in the market in 2025, it would make much sense for Hyundai to bring in the 4th gen Tucson to capture the growing SUV market.
The Tucson spotted in Pakistan appears to be a test unit, but looking at the international specifications, here’s a preview of what the Pakistani market might see if the model is officially launched:
Although Hyundai Nishat has officially denied plans to launch the 4th Gen Tucson in Pakistan next year, the sighting of the vehicle suggests that the company may be preparing for a potential release in 2025. Given its impressive features and specifications, the Tucson would be a strong contender in Pakistan’s SUV market. With competition heating up, particularly from the upcoming Kia Sportage, Hyundai might be preparing for an exciting 2025 in the Pakistani automotive landscape.
