Samsung is preparing to launch its latest flagship device in 2025, the Galaxy S25 Slim, set to rival Apple’s anticipated iPhone 17 Air. Recent reports suggest that the Galaxy S25 Slim is slated to be an ultra-slim gadget, with projected measures dropping below 7mm in thickness, making it among the slimmest smartphones in Samsung’s collection. This design choice seems to be Samsung’s calculated reaction to Apple’s intentions for the iPhone 17 Air, which is speculated to have a thickness ranging from 5mm to 6mm.
The Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to feature a sleek, minimalistic design while retaining the versatility of multiple rear cameras. In contrast, Apple’s iPhone 17 Air is believed to sport only a single camera. Although the Samsung device may not slim down the iPhone 17 Air thinner, it will try to provide just as thin as a phone can be while still maintaining usability as an ultra-skinny smartphone powerhouse.
Alongside the Galaxy S25 Slim, Samsung is also set to launch the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra with a major increase in performance. Of the three Galaxy S25 models, the basic model is rumored to have 12GB of RAM and comes with 256GB storage to complement baseless complaints of underwhelming specs in Galaxy S24. The S25 Ultra will reportedly feature 16GB of RAM across all models.
The Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to make its debut at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in late January 2025, with a release possibly coming later in the year. As Samsung looks to challenge Apple’s dominance in the premium smartphone market, all eyes are on what the company will reveal in its upcoming lineup. The new Galaxy S25 series, particularly the Slim model, could reshape the market for sleek and high-performance smartphones in 2025.
