For decades, the Honda CG125 has dominated the motorbike industry due to its legendary simplicity and effortless performance. Honda has made minor adjustments to the CG125 throughout the years, but don’t expect a big makeover in 2025. In the past, when Honda upgraded the CG125, they mostly made little adjustments rather than introducing any new features.
Evolution of the Honda CG125 from 2013 to 2024
The bike has seen several revisions throughout the years, so let’s review them briefly. In 2013, Honda implemented Euro 2 technology, which basically made the bike meet the current emissions regulations without significantly improving performance. A self-start variation was later offered in 2019. Amazing, isn’t it? However, this wasn’t revolutionary; it was merely an added convenience that some passengers would have liked.
Even though it wasn’t groundbreaking, Honda did unveil some new engine innovations in 2022. There was minimal to no change in performance for the majority of riders. Even though it was merely a limited edition model with a fresh coat of paint and a few other superficial tweaks, Honda unveiled the Golden CG125 in 2023. Rather than being an improvement, it seemed like a marketing scheme.
What’s New in the 2025 Honda CG125?
So, what should we expect from the 2025 model? Honestly, not much. Honda often makes “enhancements” to its bikes that don’t actually increase their performance. A new silencer color option, a sticker or decal, or even an “improved” engine function that’s more about complying with regulations than providing riders with anything useful might be on the horizon.
It is evident that Atlas Honda has no intention of actually improving the CG125. Instead of providing anything important to riders, we’re stuck with trivial, meaningless adjustments such as various colours or minor engine tweaks that don’t increase performance.
The bike is obviously outdated, and Honda hasn’t made any effort to update it. The CG125 will inevitably lag behind rivals’ innovations if they persist in this careless strategy. Anyone expecting more from a Honda brand will find this frustrating.
Will Atlas Honda Introduce Meaningful Changes in the 2025 CG125?
It would be surprising if the 2025 model got more than cosmetic upgrades, given Honda’s history with the CG125. Rather than significant improvements or new features, we might expect to see merely a change in sticker design or silencer colour. Since Honda tends to make little changes that don’t affect performance, we should expect the 2025 CG125 to stay pretty much the same.
