Iphone Se 4 Set For Release With 5 Key Upgrades

With its upgraded design, USB-C port, 48MP camera, Apple Intelligence, and Apple’s first in-house modem, the iPhone SE 4 will officially launch this spring. It will be the biggest SE upgrade to date.

After three months with the 16 series iPhone, many Apple fans may be asking: what’s next? Of course, it’s not an iPhone 17. That won’t happen until September 2025, which is nine months away. On the contrary, the iPhone SE 4 is likely to be Apple’s next major release, and it might debut as early as next spring—just three months away—from now. The iPhone SE series is about to experience a turning point. The next model is the first to be updated in three years, and it boasts the most significant upgrades to the portfolio since its launch. All the information we have regarding the next iPhone SE 4 is compiled here, along with the five most expected changes.

Sleeker Design, Bigger Display

The iPhone SE has maintained the same design as the iPhone 8 for the past three years. This means that it still has the home button, rounded corners, and a 4.7-inch LCD screen. However, that will soon change. According to rumours, Apple’s next iPhone will take design cues from the iPhone 14. This means an OLED screen that is 6.1 inches bigger, has flat edges, and a tiny notch. To update the SE further, it will use Face ID instead of the home button. It will still include a rear camera, but it won’t have the two cameras found on the iPhone 14. Display expert Ross Young claims that BOE and LG Display will provide Apple with the same organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen as the iPhone 14.

Switching to USB-C

The transition to USB-C is one of the more practical updates coming to the iPhone SE 4. It is now the turn of the SE, following Apple’s 2023 iPhone 15 series that switched to USB-C. European Union regulations mandate the use of a single connector for all devices having charging ports, which is a major factor driving this development. The long-awaited ability to charge your iPhone using the same wire as your iPad or MacBook is now a reality for SE users.

Apple Intelligence features

Perhaps the most unexpected change is the possible incorporation of Apple Intelligence. This also implies that the iPhone SE 4 will share the same hardware as the iPhone 16, namely the A18 CPU and 8 GB of RAM. Apple Intelligence brings cutting-edge capabilities to the iPhone SE series for the first time, including Writing Tools, Genmoji, Photos Clean Up, and the all-new Siri.

Big camera upgrades

Rumour has it that the iPhone SE 4’s camera system is getting a major update. According to reports, it will have the same 48-megapixel camera on the back as the iPhone 15. This is a big improvement over the current model’s 12-megapixel sensor. Also getting an upgrade is the front-facing camera, which will go from 7 megapixels on the iPhone SE 3 to 12 megapixels. Selfies and more informal shots should both benefit from these enhancements.

Apple’s Own Modem

Lastly, Apple’s long-awaited in-house modem is rumoured to debut in the iPhone SE 4 for the first time. Cintauri is the codename for the modem that will manage 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Apple may now use less of Qualcomm’s pricey modems, which is a huge step in their strategy. This provides Apple with greater command over its hardware while simultaneously reducing production costs.

Cost and Availability Update

  • iPhone SE 4: Rumored to start at $499, which is approximately PKR 198,999.
  • iPhone 14: Currently available in Pakistan at around PKR 274,999.

Considering Apple’s typical pricing strategy, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to be a cost-effective option for those seeking an updated iPhone model.

Additionally, with the anticipated launch of the iPhone SE 4, Apple may discontinue the iPhone 14, providing further incentive for budget-conscious consumers to opt for the SE 4.
