Internet of Things is an emerging segment with huge prospects in relation to smart cities. Raspberry Pi plays in a pivotal role in the manufacturing of these IoT devices where you need smarter computers to incase of Arduino. As per tradition, the Raspberry Pi 4 has been launched at the same affordable price tag of $35.
The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B features Quad-Core ARM-Cortex A72 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and as per user requirements, it can be paired with 1GB, 2GB or 4GB RAM configurations. It features Gigabit Ethernet with 2 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports. The Pi now supports OpenGL ES 3.0 which means you can expect visually better graphics on displays. The Pi 4 can power two 4K displays through micro HDMI ports as you can see in the schematic below:
It could take a few months before the Pi 4 officially arrives in Pakistan but it commercially available elsewhere for just $35 if you want to order the 1GB version. This kit has been used in various ways whether to make a portable desktop or to create smart glasses and so forth. Pi 4 and Arduino essentially form the backbone of IoT where the former is much more easier to use whereas the latter is cheaper and more commonly used if you have to create small devices.
