Internet slowness was reported in Karachi and several other cities on Sunday, intensifying the frustration of users already dealing with connectivity challenges across the country.
North Nazimabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Karsaz are among the regions experiencing delayed internet speeds, according to the sources. Residents in these places have raised concerns about the country’s ongoing digital deadlock. There was a nationwide outage of Wi-Fi connections that prevented internet users from accessing popular social media and messaging sites.
Peshawar internet users were also experiencing problems with browsing, uploading, and downloading media, and voice notes within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Amidst a citywide internet slowness, residents of Quetta, the capital of the Balochistan province, reported disrupted WhatsApp services.
Besides leaving the general public unable to carry out internet-dependent tasks, the reported internet outage proved damaging to individuals running online enterprises.
Data from Downdetector, an outage tracking platform, indicates a spike in disruptions affecting Gmail, WhatsApp, Instagram, and TikTok around 11 a.m. on Sunday. This follows a period of significant interruptions reported on Saturday evening.
