Intel Prepares Next-Gen Battlemage GPUs to Compete with NVIDIA and AMD in 2025, Leak Reveals

Intel appears to be expanding its Battlemage GPU lineup, as indicated by a recent update to its Linux kernel driver, which includes three new PCI IDs. This suggests that additional discrete GPU (dGPU) models are in development, potentially strengthening Intel’s position in the competitive graphics market.

Intel’s Battlemage dGPU series debuted modestly, with only two models: the B570 and B580. The positive market reaction to the Arc B580 resulted in total sales before the model sold out. According to GawroskiT’s investigation of Intel driver code, Intel appears to be planning to expand the Battlemage series.

During the CES 2025 keynote, Intel demonstrated how it expects to grow the Battlemage product line. The corporation has not disclosed any details about impending product versions. Intel plans to compete in the premium GPU market by potentially producing GPUs with more VRAM than their flagship model’s 12GB.

Could Intel Be Developing a 24GB Battlemage GPU?

Industry experts indicate Intel works on constructing a 24GB Battlemage GPU that serves artificial intelligence operations along with professional computing tasks. The recent PCI ID additions stem from Intel’s upcoming ARC PRO series since the devices aim to serve professionals and enterprise customers rather than gaming users.

The future performance of Intel’s Battlemage GPUs depends on whether the company develops graphics processing units across every performance tier to compete against NVIDIA and AMD solutions. High-performance computing solutions and AI-enabled GPU demand enables Intel to become a major market force by releasing competitive products at reasonable prices.

Further details about the upcoming next-generation GPUs are limited but Intel’s continued emphasis on driver support indicates more information will emerge during the following months.
