Meta-owned social media platform, Instagram is currently testing a new feature known as the ‘Social Library’ is currently being developed. It will aggregate all of the posts and Reels that a user has engaged with, such as reposts, likes, or saved content. This development was revealed by Alessandro Paluzzi, a well-known developer and leaker.
Paluzzi released a screenshot hinting at this potential feature, which appears to be a dashboard that allows users to easily access multiple objects. “Social Library” allows users to search for media shared in the chat, personal archives, and previously liked posts all at once.
There is also a magnifying glass icon in the screenshot, which suggests that users may be able to scroll through this unified library of content, which will make it easier to return to Reels and other shared content on Instagram.
The timeline of the so-called “Social Library” feature of Instagram, which has been said to be under development, is unclear. Currently, neither Meta nor Instagram have made any announcements about this possible functionality.
However, it is worth noting that not all features mentioned by testers during alpha/beta testing are implemented in final software versions, thus this data should be interpreted with caution.
Aside from the “Social Library,” Paluzzi has revealed more leaks indicating that Instagram is working on a feature that will allow users to share comments separately on Threads, Meta’s text-based social app.
