Instagram now allowing users to post landscape and portrait photo albums on its platform

Photo sharing app giant Instagram has updated its platform and is now allowing users to post photo albums with landscape and portrait pictures. Previously users were restricted to post photos and videos in square format. There is also a limitation to this update as users will be allowed to stick to one format— meaning if a user is posting photo album with portrait pictures he/she will not be allowed to add a landscape picture in the same album. According to the company, this restriction has been placed for ease of users and “to keep the experience smooth and consistent”.

The company in a tweet said, “Starting today, you can choose landscape and portrait formats when sharing multiple photos and videos in one post.”

Instagram introduced photo album feature back in February, which allowed users to post up to 10 photos in a single album. It would be worth mentioning here that this update has not expanded the number of photos in a single album, users as before can only post 10 photos in a single album.

Moreover, the company has added comment thread option to its app, allowing users to follow the conversation on Instagram with much ease. Additionally, Instagram has also introduced new feature named “archive”. The feature allows you to hide your pictures, the ones you don’t want to become public.

Furthermore, the company is testing a new feature which will enable users to go live with a friend. According to the company, this feature will be released in coming months.
