Indian Company Terminates Employees Over Stress Complaints

Some have claimed that YesMadam, a company that provides doorstep beauty services, fired workers after they took an in-office stress survey. According to a LinkedIn post, the impacted employees were informed of their instant firing via email.

A screenshot of an email that supposedly came from YesMadam’s human resources department has caused a stir online, with many people quite upset. The email states that the corporation surveyed employees to determine the level of stress in the workplace and chose to “part ways” with those who reported extremely high levels of stress.

“Recently, we conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress at work,” the email began with a pleasant tone. We greatly appreciate and respect the concerns that many of you voiced.

“As a company committed to fostering a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback,” it continued.

The email gave the impression, at least at first reading, that the business was going to do something to make the workplace healthier. But what happened next shocked the staff.

“To ensure that no one remains stressed at work, we have made the difficult decision to part ways with employees who indicated significant stress,” wrote YesMadam’s HR Manager Ashu Arora Jha, who also made the announcement.

That the decision was “effective immediately” and that “impacted employees will receive further details separately” were the company’s explicit statements.
