Ignite’s case study to be featured in United Nations’s Industrial Development Report

Ignite, a national technology fund backed by the government of Pakistan will be featured in the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s report for the year 2020. It will be featured as a case study for good government initiatives for the fourth industrial revolution.

The fourth industrial revolution, commonly known as 4IR, is built on the third industrial revolution which brought about rapid improvements in industries through electronics and information technology. The fourth industrial revolution is the fusion of technologies blurring the lines between physical, digital, and biological aspects.

Ignite is a non-profit company owned by Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication which works with startups, private sector partners, and incubators to spread awareness and new ideas about the use of ICT in new and innovative ways.

According to Yusuf Hussain, CEO at Ignite Pakistan, UNIDO has selected Ignite to be part of their Industrial Development Report (IDR 2020). The report will feature Ignite as a case study of how a government initiative can effectively support the fourth industrial revolution.

It is amazing news for Ignite, as well as the whole Pakistan that these efforts are being appreciated on a global scale. ICT is rapidly changing the world and it’s refreshing to see Pakistan termed as a good example for incorporating and promoting ICT at the government level.
