At COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the top ten GreenTech startups will be showcased by the Ignite National Technology Fund.
From 120 applicants, 40 were selected using established standards, and 10 were identified as exceptional innovators. These businesses represent the final round of selection.
The Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination is in charge of the GreenTech Hub Initiative, which is supported by Ignite, which is part of the Ministry of IT & Telecom. The top three will represent Pakistan in this initiative.
Khaity Technologies & SAWiE Ecosystem
Among the finalists is Khaity Technologies (Pvt) Ltd., whose mission is to help Pakistani farmers improve food security through the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural methods through the use of AI.
To a similar extent, the SAWiE Ecosystem assists smallholder farmers by using data-driven insights and remote sensing techniques, including Earth Observation and ground-based sensors. Sustainable Agriculture with a Wise Approach (SAWiE) encourages environmentally responsible farming methods by maximizing crop output and yield.
Growtech Services & EcoEdge AI
The climate-smart agricultural technology solutions offered by Growtech Services are another notable business. These solutions aim to boost productivity while decreasing environmental impact.
In the field of energy efficiency, EcoEdge AI (Pvt) Ltd. is an authority in HVAC systems that are upgraded with artificial intelligence. The goal of EcoEdge AI is to revolutionize urban energy consumption by optimizing buildings through the use of artificial intelligence and cloud computing so that they are more autonomous, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient.
ezBike & VLEKTRA Electric
With a 75% reduction in conversion costs, ezBike is making great progress in the electric mobility market to switch 27 million petrol motorcycles in Pakistan to electric power. Making the transition to electric vehicles more accessible, their Battery-as-a-Service approach provides affordable access to batteries.
By producing electric motorcycles in the area and incorporating environmentally conscious design and state-of-the-art technology, VLEKTRA Electric Motorcycles helps with sustainable urban mobility.
Creeco & Zyp Technologies
One of the finalists is Creeco (Pvt) Ltd., which was one of the first companies to use waste products to make alternative fuels. With an emphasis on carbon capture, Creeco uses wastewater, algae, and hydrogen to create sustainable fuels like ammonia and synfuels.
A new player in the electric mobility space, Electric Energe Pvt Ltd. (Zyp Technologies) has introduced a franchise-based battery swap network and a Battery-as-a-Service model to bring the cost of owning an electric car down to a manageable level.
Concept Pvt. Ltd. & NanoDrop
Other finalists address issues like water scarcity and environmental contamination. Concept Loop Pvt. Ltd. turns used plastic into high-quality building materials. Their EcoGreteTM plastic aggregate reduces the amount of plastic that ends up in the seas and supports a circular economy.
NanoDrop is another cutting-edge firm that uses nanotechnology to create water filtration membranes that can cleanse saltwater without using power by removing pollutants on molecular and nanoscale levels.
With the help of prominent organizations like NUST, Pak Launch, Ahya, Sarmayacar, i2i Ventures, Zayn Venture Capital, USAID, and CFA, this endeavor would highlight Pakistan’s achievements in environmentally friendly technology worldwide. The chosen startups want to generate long-lasting changes that show the country’s dedication to taking action on climate change and embracing new ideas.
