IBA’s Computer Science Society is organizing an IT Olympiad, full of games and technology competitions from 15-17 April with more than half a million ruppees up for grabs.
Institute of Business Administration, arguably one of the best business schools in Karachi, also has a thriving computer science department and a dedicated in-house entrepreneurship program, CED. IBA’s annual IT olympiad, ProBattle, has also managed to garner attention from around the country and this time, TechJuice has signed up as a media partner for this year’s ProBattle’16 and will be covering the event.
Arranged by the university’s computer science society, it pits tech and game-gurus in a range of competitions from the likes of web development, speed programming to Fifa and even Mortal Kombat against each other. The best ones stand a chance to win a substantial amount of cash money.
With a total of 18 competitions, there is a total prize pool of Rs.500,000.
The registration fee for each competition is around Rs.800 while the winnings range from around Rs.15,000 in Fifa and Mortal Kombat to as much as Rs.40,000 for DOTA 2 and Database Design. You can find the full list of competitions and the respective registration fee at the event’s Facebook page.
The event is also open for outsiders and you can register by going to IBA ProBattle’16. After registration, tickets can be availed by contacting any ProBattle Brand Ambasssador. The deadline for ticket registration is 10th, April. Note that if you are under-18, you can submit your B-from or parent’s CNIC number instead of your own CNIC number at the time of registration.
The event itself will be held at IBA’s Main Campus and will be spread out over a period of three days from Friday, April 15th, to Sunday, the 17th.
