IBA ProBattle’17, one of the biggest Tech Olympiads of Pakistan to happen this March

For the past 4 years, IBA Computer Society is organizing IBA ProBattle to provide a competitive platform for creative minds. The participants showcase their tech skills by participating in dozens of competitions.

This year’s edition, IBA ProBattle’17 is scheduled to be held from 3-5th March, 2017 at the Main Campus of IBA, Karachi.

Aiming to exceed 1800 registrations this year, the organizing team is putting relentless efforts to make this year’s edition bigger and better! The team has also partnered with notable names including IBM, Peekaboo Guru and Hamid Adamjee Trust and many more.

In order to fuel partnerships and collaborations, IBA ProBattle’17 for the first time ever, is joining hands with FAST to make this Tech Olympiad better than ever. FAST is acting as an Academic Partner for the event.

A total of 18 competitions are open for registrations which have been divided based on the following themes: CS/IT Competitions, Designing Competitions, Gaming Competitions, Business Competitions and General/Logic Competitions.

Building upon the legacy, the organizers have decided to introduce two new competitions this year. First one being ‘Mobile App Development’ for all those app-making enthusiasts who would design a prototype on a specified theme. The second one is ‘Game Jam’ for all game-development lovers who would create a game on-the-spot in the given time frame. Additionally, rules for the Business Idea competition have also been revamped to bring it up to pace with the current startup ecosystem, offering participants new and bold challenges.

When asked to share his views on what participants should expect from IBA ProBattle’17, Hisham Sajid, Executive Director of Publications, said,

“Whether you’re a casual gamer, a coding aficionado or someone who generally likes spending a lot of time behind a computer screen, ProBattle’17 has a little bit of something for everyone”

In addition to this, the prize money for this year’s edition has been set at a massive PKR 550,000 for the winning teams. The deadline for registering is 28th of this month so you better hurry up!
