Huawei just took a dig at Samsung with #BeyondTheGalaxy

This has been Huawei’s week of taking subtle digs at Samsung.

Samsung is currently enjoying the launch of its Galaxy Note 8. The phone, which is Samsung’s most expensive flagship to-date, comes with an array of impressive specs that include a 6.3 inches Quad HD and Super AMOLED display, 8MP front and 12MP rear camera, 6 GB RAM, Octa-core processor, and a 3300mAh battery. Interestingly, this is Samsung’s first smartphone that has comes with a dual camera. People took note and so did Huawei.

Huawei’s Australian Twitter handle took to Twitter to poke fun at their rival smartphone manufacturer by displaying their past smartphones the P9, Mate 9, P10, and the upcoming Mate 10 which will be launched on October 16 with Leica-branded dual rear cameras and a full-screen bezel-less display.

Note how Huawei used #BeyondTheGalaxy underneath its Mate 10. The hashtag has also been found on Huawei Malaysia’s Instagram handle.

But this isn’t it. Earlier this week, Huawei took another dig at Samsung by releasing a teaser promo for the IFA 2017 event. The teaser uses the tagline “Do what matters” as opposed to Samsung’s tagline for its IFA Unpacked event that says “Do bigger things”.

At the IFA 2017, Huawei is expected to release its own virtual assistant to rival Cortana, Siri, Google Assistant, and Bixby. It would be a good combo if they showcase their Mate 10 flagship with an assistant running on top to attract more sales, just like Samsung did with the Galaxy S8.
