It seems that Huawei’s Nova 4 will be the first phone to ship with a screen hole display. The design from the front is quite similar to Samsung’s Infinity O display which was revealed earlier this month. While the Samsung A8s featuring the Infinity O display is supposed to launch by the end of this year, Huawei might just beat them to the new screen design. To make things even more interesting, the phone was seen on stage in an event which can be watched here.
While the video only showed the front and made sure that we could not get a glimpse of the back, Nova 4’s renders have been made by the VenyaGeskin. The render shows a screen hole display that goes nearly edge to edge except the bottom. The back features a triple camera setup similar to one found on the Huawei P20 Pro but we don’t know if the exact specification of the camera will be identical or not. The paint job is clearly inspired by Huawei’s P20 Pro. Also, there is no fingerprint sensor on the front or the back, so are we getting an in screen fingerprint sensor like the Mate 20 Pro? That remains to be seen
The idea of notched phones was introduced by the Essential Phone. But it was iPhone X that changed the industry trend. Soon everyone was trying notches on their phones, but despite reduced notch sizes, customers simply didn’t like the design very much which explains why manufacturers are transitioning to smaller notches and even different designs. While foldable phones will be available in 2019, these new designs will be dominating the market. Samsung’s next flagship, Galaxy S10, is expected to have the Infinity Display.
The phone is expected to launch in December and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. For more details, stay tuned at Tech Juice.
