Huawei makes a comeback in Pakistan with Y series smartphone

While making a strong come back in Pakistan’s mobile market, Huawei introduced another classic phone from Y series. The Chinese telecom giant is planning to seize the market with its new mid-range HUAWEI Y9s.

After a photo walk on the launch of the new phone, Huawei’s Country Manager Scott Huang told the media that the company has the ability to stay strong even without Google services. It will keep providing the best services to the customers.

At the round-table conference with media officials, Scott said all the Google applications have been and will be available to every Huawei phone in the future. Huawei has also been promoting its own AppGallery for a while, and according to Scott, it has grown to more than 570 million users. He admitted the Huawei app store has no match with the number of applications available on the Play Store.

He said Huawei is working hard to raise the AppGallery to Play Store’s level. He added “This is an eco-system, and a challenging thing to develop which takes time, but Huawei has been investing in it globally. Huawei has scientists, researchers and experts across the world who are working on it,”

Huawei has 1.07 million mobile services developers connected to its ecosystem, 160 million active monthly users of Huawei Mobile Cloud and 390 million monthly users of Huawei’s AppGallery. Huawei ranked 5th among global tech companies by investing $15 billion in its research and development. Scott said Huawei has 80,000 workers in its R&D and the company is planning to pour more $17 billion in this program.

Scott refused to accept the speculation about Huawei not bringing flagship phones in the market due to the US-China trade war. He said it is Huawei’s strategy of launching phones in accordance with the market appetite. Recently the company has launched many flagship phones in Europe and other regions.

Stats shared by Scott tells recent news related to the US-China tug of war made no effect on Huawei’s progress of becoming a top smartphone brand. It ranked second in the third quarter of 2019 after securing 18.6 percent of market share. In 2019, the company achieved the target of 200 million sales 64 days earlier than 2018.

Huawei believes that Pakistan has a great market for mid-range phones, therefore, it mostly launches low budget phones in the country. Huawei Y9s is the new smartphone launched by Huawei to grab the market. Huawei Y9s has the tripe camera setup and comes with a price tag of 42,999. The phone is available for Pre-orders until Friday, December 6, 2019.
