How to open an account in JS Bank

JS Bank is a public bank that was established on Dec 30th, 2006. With its headquarters in Karachi, the bank was formed as an amalgamation of 2 large companies (Jahangir Siddiqui Investment Bank Limited and American Express Bank Limited) by Jahangir Siddiqui. Currently, the Bank has its footprint spread over 172 cities with 345 branches all across the country with 1 International branch in Bahrain.

JS Bank also provides its users with the facility of Internet Banking to manage and maintain their account details anywhere.

Let’s look at 2 different types of accounts you can open at JS Bank

  • Current account
  • Savings account

Current Account:

There are 2 types of people who can apply for a current account at JS Bank:

  • Salaried individual (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)
  • Business owner (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)

Salaried individual:

To apply for a current account at JS Bank, you need to collect the following documents:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of employment (through an employment verification letter)
  • Copy of your utility bills

Business Owner:

Collect and submit the following documents to the bank if you want to open a current account at JS Bank:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of business
  • Copy of Utility bills

After you’ve submitted these documents, you’d also need to pay a minimum fee of 1000 PKR for account opening while no minimum balance is required for account maintenance (this opening fee is for the JS premium current account), for more info on JS current accounts visit this page.

  • Enjoy free services upon maintaining a minimum monthly balance of 100,000 PKR.
  • Offering unlimited cheque book, pay orders, demand drafts and duplicate account statements.
  • Free online banking facility at all branches.

  • Unlimited withdrawals and deposits every month.

Savings account:

There are 2 types of people who can apply for a savings account at JS Bank:

  • Salaried individual (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)
  • Business owner (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)

Salaried individual:

To apply for a savings account at JS Bank, you need to collect the following documents:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of employment (through an employment verification letter)
  • Copy of your utility bills

Business Owner:

Collect and submit the following documents to the bank if you want to open a savings account at JS Bank:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of business

After submitting these documents you’d also need to pay a minimum fee of 1000 PKR for account opening while no minimum balance is required for account maintenance.

The JS Bank PLS savings account has an annual equivalence rate(AER)/interest rate of up to 6.5%.

  • Free ATM card
  • Free locker facility
  • Unlimited withdrawals and deposits every month.
  • Profit calculated on monthly average balance.
  • The interest rate depends upon the deposited amount.
