How to open an account at Samba Bank

Samba Financial Group is a Saudi Banking firm with its subsidiary in Pakistan, commencing its operations in 2007, Samba bank in Pakistan has a total of 37 branches across the country with plans for future growth.

The Bank also provides internet banking services, some of which are mentioned below:

  • Order a cheque book.
  • View or download information about your account.
  • Account to account funds transfer within samba bank

Let’s look at 3 different types of account you can open at Samba Bank:

  • Current account
  • Savings account
  • Asaan account

Current account:

There are 2 types of people who can apply for a current account at Samba Bank:

  • Salaried individual (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)
  • Business owner (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)

Salaried individual:

To apply for a current account at Samba Bank, you need to collect the following documents:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of employment (through an employment verification letter)
  • Copy of your utility bills

Business owner:

Collect and submit the following documents to the bank if you want to open a current account at Samba Bank:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of business

After you’ve submitted these documents, you’d also need to pay a minimum fee of 1000 PKR for account opening and will also need to maintain a minimum balance of 1000 PKR for account maintenance.

  • 3 Pay Orders per Month are free.
  • Free 3 Countrywide Online Withdrawal Transactions per Month
  • Clearance of 3 Outstation Cheques per Month is free.
  • Un-limited deposits and withdrawal every month.
  • Free bank statement upon request.
  • Locker Facility
  • Samba Master Debit & ATM Card.

Savings Account:

There are 2 types of people who can apply for a savings account at Samba Bank:

  • Salaried individual (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)
  • Business owner (Age limit: 18 to 70 years old)

Salaried individual:

To apply for a PLUS Savings Account at Samba Bank, you need to collect the following documents:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of employment (through an employment verification letter)
  • Copy of your utility bills

Business owner:

Collect and submit the following documents to the bank if you want to open a PLUS Savings Account at Samba Bank:

  • CNIC
  • Proof of business

After submitting these documents you’d also need to pay a minimum fee of 1000 PKR for account opening while no minimum balance is required for account maintenance.

The samba PLUS savings account has an interest rate of up to 11.25%.

  • No limitation on withdrawals and deposits.
  • Profit payment is on a monthly basis.
  • Free monthly e-statements
  • Free internet banking facility
  • Profit is calculated on a daily basis

Asaan Account:

You can also open an Asaan account if you’re not the type of person to deal with the arduous intricacies of account opening documentations.

You can open your Asaan Account with 100 PKR and the only documentation required is your CNIC.

Features of Asaan Account:

  • Choice of opening a Current Account or a Savings Account
  • No Minimum Balance Requirement
  • No Account Maintenance Charges
  • SMS Alerts
  • Inter-Bank Funds Transfer Facility (IBFT) through ATM Machine & Internet Banking.
  • Internet Banking Facility
