Have you ever wondered why when celebrities release a book, or their own makeup or clothing line, it gets have sold out in minutes? That’s because they have formed personal brand and people want to know more about them. But don’t be afraid, you don’t need to be a celebrity to do this. Use social media to post about your daily activities, what you had for in breakfast, or which movie you saw last night. 250 million people are using Instagram Stories. Start using it to tell your story. Human beings are naturally curious about what others do. Tap into that.

Switch to a business profile

Over 1 million profiles on Instagram are business profiles. These don’t just belong to famous brands, but also bloggers and social media influencers. Having a business profile will make you more approachable for brands interested in partnerships and also provide you with invaluable insights and analytics to see how well your posts are doing. Using this data, you can tweak your future content to increase engagement.

Increase your following

Making money on Instagram is all about having a significant following. Brands will only collaborate with you if you can guarantee them social media reach. But you’ll need to be patient. In order to increase your following decide what you’re interested in and form a personal brand centered around it. Then start developing creative content and make your Instagram aesthetically pleasing by posting brilliantly captured shots. Furthermore, hashtags are a very important way of reaching out to new people. Analyze other Instagram influentials and see what hashtags they use to increase their reach.

Popular Instagrammer Abigail Ratchford, who gained over 7 million followers in just 3 years, revealed to Entrepreneur that once you hit a million followers, brands will be ready to pay you over $1,000 for just one post. This number goes up as your following increases. But don’t worry, some local brands will pay you for posts even if you have under 100,000 followers.

Affiliate Marketing

While some brands will pay you for just posting a photo of their product, another way to make money is via affiliate marketing. This means that a brand will partner with you and give you a special code/link. Using this link you will drive your followers to visit the brand’s website and buy that product. If someone buys the product using your code/link you receive a pre-determined percentage from it.

These are some beginner tips to help you get started. It’s all about increasing your following and proactively seeking new opportunities to convert it into cash.
