How to Create GIFs on WhatsApp Using Meta AI

It would be great if you could show your feelings, thoughts, and emotions in your WhatsApp chats in a fun, animated way. It’s never been easier to make personalized GIFs with Meta AI. Whether you want to add some humor to your talks or share a special moment with your friends, this step-by-step guide will show you how to create GIFs on WhatsApp using Meta AI. Let’s get started in making your chats more interesting by turning your words into colorful visual stories.

Steps to create GIFs on WhatsApp using Meta AI

With the same steps, you can use Meta AI on WhatsApp to make GIFs on both Android and iPhones.

Step 1:

Install the latest version of WhatsApp on your smartphone if you haven’t installed it already. To install WhatsApp go to the Google Play Store or Apple Play Store.

Step 2:

Open the WhatsApp on your phone.

Step 3:

Go to the chat on which you want to send the GIF.

Step 4:

Then, click on the attach icon present at the bottom.

Step 5:

Click the “Imagine” button here.

Step 6:

A new window will pop up on your screen. Next, jot down the description of the GIF you want to make using Meta AI.

Step 7:

As you type, the picture will change automatically in real-time. Press the “right arrow” icon when you’re satisfied with the message and picture.

Step 8:

To continue, press the “Animate” button. This will transform the produced image into a GIF.

Step 9:

Wait for it to process, and in a few seconds, the picture will be turned into a GIF. Some parts of the media, like the background, will move in a loop.

Step 10:

Now click the “Send” button. It will be sent in chat as an HD GIF.

Note: You can follow the same steps above if you don’t want the picture to be turned into a GIF, but don’t tap the “Animate” button after typing the query. This will only send a static picture to the receiver.

How to Access Meta AI’s GIF Creator in WhatsApp?

Make sure you have the most recent version of WhatsApp on your iPhone or Android phone if you don’t see the Meta AI choice. If you have Meta AI, the “Imagine” feature for making GIFs will only work.

Follow these steps to get Meta AI on your iPhone or Android phone.

Android

  • On your Android phone, open the Play Store.
  • Click on your profile picture in the upper right area.
  • This is where you can click “Manage apps and devices.”
  • Hit the “See more” button.
  • Scroll down and check if there is a pending update for WhatsApp.
  • Just tap “Update,” and your Android phone will have the most recent version.

iPhone

  • Open the App Store first.
  • Now, tap the profile button in the menu bar at the bottom.
  • Scroll down to see all of your pending app updates.
  • If there is a new version of WhatsApp, click “Update.” Then you’re good to go.
  • If changing the app doesn’t add Meta AI to WhatsApp, you’ll have to wait for the server side to roll it out. All WhatsApp users have been getting the Meta AI update since May 2024.

Key Limitations of Meta AI in GIF and Image Generation

Meta AI won’t make images or GIFs if the query is:

  • Not following the rules: In the back end, some questions and words are limited. This makes sure that users only make media that is reasonable and suitable.
  • Involves politics: Meta AI doesn’t give answers that have any political content.
  • Does not use the right word: The chatbot won’t move on to the next question if it finds offensive phrases or other inappropriate words.
