Pakistan’s mobile industry experienced a significant increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) during the second quarter of 2024 (April–June), reaching Rs 302 per month, according to the PTA report.
ARPU surged significantly during the fiscal year 2023–2024, rising from Rs 229 to Rs 276 per month. The ARPU in dollar terms, however, was not given because it was lower than that of comparable nations.
In 2023–2024, Jazz and Ufone distinguished themselves with remarkable ARPU growth rates. While Ufone’s ARPU increased from Rs 233 to Rs 280, Jazz’s ARPU increased from Rs 254 to Rs 327. Jazz’s ARPU exceeded Rs 369 per month during the April–June 2024 period, with Ufone coming in second at Rs 304.
The ARPU of other telecom providers, such as Zong and Telenor, increased as well; Zong’s reached Rs 258 and Telenor’s reached Rs 214.
Since data revenue now makes up 65% of Pakistan’s total mobile industry revenue, it is crucial to promote broadband and digital services to increase ARPU and drive industry expansion.
