In a launch event held in Dubai, HMD has taken veils of its latest value flagship phone Nokia 8.1. The phone will be coming to Pakistan in a few weeks and will be priced at 69,000 PKR.
HMD Global is marketing Nokia 8.1 as a value flagship phone, with a focus on some key areas such as camera performance, high-quality display with HDR 10 support and long battery life. Nokia is also shipping the latest Android OS version 9, known as Android Pie with Nokia 8.1.
Nokia 8.1 comes with a Snapdragon 710, 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage. Powering all that is a 3,500 mAh battery which should be enough to keep the device running for a whole day. Coupled with a near stock Android experience due to being part of Android One project, Nokia is promising consistent performance and updates over the next two years. HMD global claims that Nokia 8.1 will get the Android Q update too when it is released next year.
Nokia has also used an HDR 10 compliant IPS LCD display in Nokia 8.1. The main focus of Nokia 8.1, however, is its cameras. Nokia claims that the Carl Zeiss setup used at the back of Nokia 8.1 is one of the best in the industry. It has a dual 12 MP and 13 MP cameras at its back, with a 20 MP selfie camera at its front.
