Here is how you can make an informed voting decision

Most of the times, and in my case, every time, the candidate asking for votes in my constituency is someone I do not know anything about. I only recognise their face from the banners that are displayed at every nook and corner by the contesting candidates.

As I have been living in Lahore for almost eight years now and, I have only managed to make a few short trips to my hometown, Sialkot where I am supposed to cast my vote. So, in this case, I have a huge responsibility to select the candidate who is actually better than other candidates. Not having lived and experienced the problems faced by residents of my constituency and the previous work done in my constituency by the last representative, I REALLY need to get my homework done to be able to make the right decision.

Here’s how you and I can begin:

First, we need to find out who are the people contesting in our constituency. You can also click here to find out your relevant national and provincial constituencies.

Most of the times, you will be able to find out his qualification and beliefs or maybe a lot more by looking at the candidate’s social media profile.

Further, you can visit ECP website and extract all the information regarding candidate’s background including assets, income tax history, and profession.

Now choose your province and it will land you to another page where you can scroll down the list of cities updated on the Google Drive and choose your constituency to get a complete information of your candidate in PDF.

You can find out the information regarding income tax details here.

Here you can get all the information of the candidates contesting in your constituency related to their annual income and tax.

Let all of us realize that our vote has a lot of power and we should take an informed. Else, we lose all right to complain for the next 5 years.
