HEC & P@SHA collaborate to train computer science graduates to meet market needs

HEC and Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) have agreed to provide training to fresh computing graduates enabling them to get better jobs in the local and international market.

The purpose of this meeting was to explore collaboration opportunities between stakeholders to enable new graduates to learn about new and emerging innovations and technologies.

The meeting was also aimed to discuss various measures to improve the production of computer professionals to meet the local and international market demand and make them experts in new and emerging tools and technologies. The members also considered steps needed to reduce the market gap between available qualified and skilled workers and the required qualification of human resources.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Arshad Ali, Executive Director, HEC, Mr. Barkan Saeed, Chairman, P@SHA, Dr. Ayub Alvi, Chairman, National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) and Vice Chancellors of different universities.

During the meeting, Dr. Arshad Ali stressed the need to come up with a plan of action to achieve the objectives. He said that HEC is committed to building skills of graduates in computer science so that they can meet the needs of the market.

Mr. Barkan informed the meeting that P@SHA is preparing a list of experts in several new and emerging computing areas that will be shared with HEC and other stakeholders. These experts will assist universities, their faculty, and graduates in learning new tools and technologies that will help them in acquiring better job opportunities.

Dr. Ayub Alvi shared the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC’s) plan to hold five-day workshops on various emerging technologies and tools which will be attended by teachers, students, and industry professionals.
