The two university colleges will be built in Zhob and Dera Murad Jamali and will be constituent colleges of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) and Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, Uthal respectively.
Following the approval of the Planning Commission, Higher Education Commission (HEC) has been allocated Rs 2.763 billion to develop two universities in Balochistan. The two university colleges will be situated in Zhob and Dera Murad Jamali. The university college in Zhob will operate as a constituent college of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS). This college will also offer full four-year degree courses in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Economics and Business Administration. For this college, 100 acres of land have been allocated by the Balochistan Government to this project. Rs 1.260 billion of the total amount allocated will be used by the Federal Government in the construction of the infrastructure needed.
The university college to be constructed in Dera Murad Jamali will be a constituent college of the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, Uthal. This college will offer both degree and diploma courses. The degree courses will be Computer Sciences, Sociology, Education, Environmental Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences. The diploma courses will be Food Sciences, Food Technology, and Livestock and Livestock Development.
For this second college, the Balochistan Government has set aside 500 acres of land with a spending target of Rs 1.503 billion planned.
In both university colleges, the Higher Education Commission has put in place plans to provide the needed expertise and facilities to ensure that the students have a smooth learning experience. From the lecture rooms, libraries, medical facilities, living quarters to the sporting areas, the bodies in charge have put down solid plans to ensure that everything goes well.
The given amount of money will enable the HEC to meet the needs of the learners in each area the colleges will be located. The young men close to each college will have an easier time accessing education and research facilities once the colleges are completed.
