HBO’s computers hacked, script of Game of Thrones leaked online

One of the biggest Drama series titled Games of Thrones (GoT) is being televised nowadays on HBO. Episode one of Games of Thrones broke all records the day it aired on T.V. This shows how much fan following the show has. However, a bad news has emerged for GoT as several media outlets have reported that hackers have hacked HBO’s computers and steal data of company’s famous drama series which include a script of Games of Thrones and episodes of Ballers and Room 104.

The news has now been confirmed by The Verge, stating that script of Games of Thrones and episodes of Ballers and Room 104 has leaked online. Hacker has threatened that they would be releasing more data in the future.

The company said,

“HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information. We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cyber security firms. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold.”

The company has always struggled to keep its systems from being hacked. Previously four episodes of Games of Thrones season 5 were leaked online. Not just hacking HBO has also failed to keep people from downloading episodes from illegal websites. According to a new report, season seven, episode one of Game of Thrones was pirated over 90,000,000 times from torrent sites.

Piracy and hacking are costing huge sums to companies around the world. Just recently Honda’s production line also halted due to a cyber attack. Governments and tech companies around the world are trying to diminish piracy and hacking, however, they have not achieved any good results so far.

Games of Thrones has become highest rated program across all platforms. 12.7 million tuned into HBO itself for the seventh-season premiere, which itself is a huge number.
