GTA VI Officially Confirmed for Late 2025 Release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Rockstar Games, aunder Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch in late 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, putting an end to widespread speculation about potential delays. The news was announced during Take-Two’s second-quarter financial report, solidifying anticipation among fans eager for the next installment in the iconic franchise.

“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”

The excitement surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI has been palpable since December 2023, when its first trailer amassed over 100 million views within 48 hours, eclipsing the total views of the original GTA V trailer. A significant number of individuals appear to be captivated by this specific franchise, demonstrating that there is consistently a strong curiosity that fuels interest in the range of products.

Set in the state of Leonida, Grand Theft Auto VI will return to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and expand beyond, marking the most expansive and immersive evolution of the series yet. The Grand Theft Auto V’s developers, Rockstar Games, which dispenses the most complex and interactive gaming environments, guarantee innovation to players. The first trailer can be viewed on Rockstar’s YouTube Channel.

Take-Two CEO, remarked on the difficulties of setting release dates for high-profile projects such as Grand Theft Auto VI, recognizing the enormous pressure on developers to match the high expectations established by the series’ previous triumphs. The company also reported excellent sales results, with Grand Theft Auto V selling over 205 million copies across all platforms and Red Dead Redemption 2 selling 67 million units.

This late 2025 release date is consistent with Rockstar’s historical timing; Grand Theft Auto V was launched in September 2013 and became a tremendous success. The company’s most recent financial report also hinted at additional upcoming projects, including Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country, both set for 2026.

Rockstar Games has established a remarkable legacy in the realm of open-world gaming, starting with the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto III in 2001 and extending through iconic titles such as Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV. With over 410 million units sold globally, this series stands out as one of the most successful properties in contemporary entertainment.

In addition to Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar has built a remarkable collection of titles, featuring the Red Dead Redemption series, Max Payne, Bully, L.A. Noire, and several others.
